VizURL Updates Logo Bookmark Manager

HONOLULU, HI - VizURL (www.vizurl.com) has introduced updates to its logo based Internet bookmark manager, making it easier to browse your favorite sites.

VizURL saves your bookmarks as pages of website logo images. Users can edit and personalize these pages by adding, deleting, and arranging logos visually according to their own needs. Pages of links can also be categorized and labeled.

“Browsing your favorite sites should be quick and easy, without the need to type in each domain name or scroll through a long list of text links,” said founder and CEO Anton Commagère.

New design and user interface enhancements include:

* Auto complete search field.
* LightWindows for secondary pages.
* More intuitive logo delete and a larger centered logo search field.

Programmer and CTO Özgün Koyun has helped VizURL evolve with the Ruby on Rails web application framework. Also used are the Prototype javascript framework and Scriptaculous libraries to enable AJAX functions such as drag & drop, live search, drop down menus and LightWindows.

Using VizURL is simple. A users page of logos is arranged by dragging and dropping them where they want. New logo positions are instantly saved and updated. Logos are added to a page using the logo search engine then dragged and dropped onto a desired location on the page. Each page can hold up to 81 logos, and users may design up to 9 pages. An RSS icon at the top of logos links the user to a site’s RSS feeds.

Logos can be deleted from a page by dropping them onto the delete icon. If the logo for a site is not found during a search, it is automatically requested. A new requests page lets users monitor the status of requested logos and completed requests.
