Cogenz takes enterprise social bookmarking behind the firewall

Launches on-premises version of popular software, reduces license fees

London, UK – 11 September 2008 – Cogenz Limited today announced the launch of an on-premises version of its social bookmarking solution designed to enable its customers – the world’s leading users of social computing tools in business – to implement secure enterprise social networking and bookmarking at a lower cost, behind the corporate firewall.

With over 100 companies already signed up for the hosted edition of the software, Cogenz is now introducing the ‘Server Edition’ of its software for companies reluctant or unable to use platforms delivered via Software as a Service (SaaS). Its objective is to reduce the cost of enterprise social networking and bookmarking and further accelerate adoption amongst companies looking for simple social computing solutions.

With the introduction of this new deployment configuration, Cogenz customers will benefit from an LDAP authentication option, advanced customization settings, closer integration with Delicious and new social networking features that reveal and encourage connections between employees. Prices begin at £175 ($350) per year for 25 users, rising to £6,000 ($12,000) per year for an unlimited user license. In a related announcement, Cogenz also announced reduced license fees for its hosted pricing model. The current pricing model starts at £95 ($180) per month for 50 users. Under the new pricing model, a flat rate of £1 ($2) per user per month will apply.
