Shows include “Bones” featuring Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan, forensic anthropologist and title character in Fox’s hit forensics mystery show, starring Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz. Based on the works of real-life forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs, the fourth season of “Bones” premiered this week with a two hour special in London.

HBO’s newest series “True Blood”, based on Charlaine Harris’s bestselling Sookie Stackhouse southern vampire series, launches this month and is available in eBooks at great prices. The show stars Anna Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse, a supernaturally gifted Southern cocktail waitress who has a crush on Bill Compton, the mysterious vampire down the street, played by Stephen Moyer. From Dead to Worse, the latest in the series, rode BooksOnBoard’s eBooks bestseller list for two months.

Inseparable, based on the classic The Strange Tale of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, stars Toby Stephens as a partially paralyzed forensic psychiatrist whose alter ego is a charismatic criminal. Crusoe is based on Daniel Defoe’s classic novel Robinson Crusoe.

Movies coming out this fall include Twilight, based on the first novel in Stephenie Meyer’s phenomenally popular Twilight vampire fantasy series. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, a story of a man who is born old and gets younger over time (played by Brad Pitt), is based on the story by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Oscar buzz surrounds the movie adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, The Road, about a father and son surviving in post-apocalyptic America, starring Viggo Mortensten. The Secret Life of Bees, starring Dakota Fanning, Jennifer Hudson, Queen Latifah, Paul Bettany and Alicia Keys, is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Sue Monk Kidd.

The Day the Earth Stood Still is a remake of the 1951 film based on Harry Bates’s classic science fiction novella, starring Keanu Reeves.
