General Dynamics Awarded $32 Million U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Contract for IT Management in Afghanistan

General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), was awarded a contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Afghanistan Engineer District (AED) to provide Information Technology Management Services in Afghanistan to support USACE-AED reconstruction and infrastructure development programs. The contract has a total potential value of $32 million over five years if all options are exercised.

General Dynamics will manage an in-country network and provide critical communications between USACE-AED operations and the continental U.S. The satellite and network communications infrastructure will provide enhanced video, voice and data communications for USACE-AED operations throughout Afghanistan.
