Delta’s Military Lounge in Atlanta and Worldwide Crown Room Clubs® Provide Comfort and Entertainment for Traveling Military Personnel During the Holidays

ATLANTA, Dec. 20, 2005 – For the 36th consecutive year, military personnel have a number of places to call their own during this busy holiday season. The Delta Air Lines Military Lounge, for active and retired military and their families, is now operational at Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport, and Delta has opened its Crown Room Clubs to active U.S. military personnel on leave during the holidays.

The Military Lounge provides a comfortable area in which military personnel and their families can relax between flights during the holidays by offering food, soft drinks and a welcoming atmosphere. The lounge is located in the California Room across from B-33 and is open now through January 6. The lounge first opened in 1969.

“We are expecting to receive more than 7,000 visitors this year, and we may exceed that, based on the escalating attendance that we’ve seen so far this season” said Donna Catrone, Delta’s Senior Analyst - Special Events. “Delta considers it an honor to be able to provide a snack, or some rest to our military personnel. We are grateful for the selfless work these men and women do to keep us safe and this is our way of saying ‘thank you’.”

In addition, Delta has opened up its Crown Room Clubs throughout the world to active members of the U.S. military.

Delta joins millions of Americans in expressing thanks to the men and women who are representing the United States. “We are honored to provide traveling military a quiet, relaxing environment to enjoy during their holiday travels,” said Betty Hollan, general manager of Delta’s Customer Lounge Programs. “Delta personnel in our clubs are eager to serve U.S. military personnel with Delta-style hospitality and make them feel right at home.”
