Jewellery Courses To Inspire

Many people wish to learn the art of jewellery making but lack the time to dedicate to this ancient art. It used to be you needed a three year apprenticeship, or attend endless evenings of night school in order to create your own piece. Phee Braithwaite from wanted to change that so people who had never picked up a hammer could experience the joy and sense of pride in creating their own masterpiece.

In an interview, Phee stated ďI wanted people to be able to join me for the day and by the end of it walk away with a beautiful ring which they have made entirely by themselves. I have just three people in each class ensuring I give everyone plenty of attention. I love opening up my collection of gems and having everyone pick the one they want to work with, then we get straight into making the ring in sterling silver. Once thatís done we create the setting and then itís onto the tricky job of setting the stone and attaching it to the ring see photos here. Everything is looking pretty grubby at this point, until we polish it and clean it up - it is then we have something to be really proud of.Ē

Phee reveals the secret of beautiful jewellery making in an easy to follow structure that ensures you get terrific results, have lots of fun and a day you will always remember.
