Scottrade focuses on customer education with free investing workshop in New York City

Online investment firm connects self-directed investors, shares an inside look at its trading platforms and tips on making better informed investment decisions



New York. – Scottrade, a leading branch-supported online investment firm, will host a free workshop to help online traders and investors use Scottrade’s trading platforms more effectively. Scottrade’s User Summit will be held on Saturday, July 19, at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers in New York City.



The workshop will be led by Kevin Dodson, Scottrade’s Director of Online Financial Services and include break-out sessions on option essentials and trading tools including Trade-Ideas™, NASDAQ Velocity® & Forces® and NASDAQ TotalView®. The break-out sessions will be led by Todd Slawson, Manager of Active Trader Services at Scottrade; Alex Jacobson, Vice President of Education at the International Securities Exchange; and Eliza Copelan, Director of Global Data Products at NASDAQ OMX.



Other topics covered during throughout the day include using stock and ETF screeners for identifying potential opportunities, setting up stock alerts, keeping up with the economic calendar for IPOs, earnings and splits.

The New York User Summit is one of 12 regional workshops Scottrade is hosting this year throughout the country as part of its customer education initiative.
