UPS Ranked No. 4 in U.S. for "Best Reputation"
ATLANTA, Dec. 14, 2005 - With the busiest week of the year underway and millions of customers counting on UPS (NYSE:UPS) to deliver, the company has just been ranked No. 4 in the United States for best reputation.
The latest Harris Interactive corporate reputation study also cited UPS for excellent customer service compared to its peers and ranked it No. 2 overall for “highest trust” in the event of a service problem.
The Harris Interactive survey, published last week in The Wall Street Journal, ranked UPS No. 4 overall behind Johnson & Johnson, Coca-Cola and Google. Harris Interactive asked more than 19,500 consumers to rate companies on a list of 20 attributes in six key dimensions.
Besides customer service and trust, UPS ranked No. 2 after Johnson & Johnson for high ethical standards and No. 1 for sincerity of corporate communications.
The latest Harris Interactive results follow the recent recognition of UPS by the Customer Respect Group as one of only six companies – and the only one in its industry – to achieve an “excellent” rating for serving customers online. Other recent awards include:
The 2005 Customer Loyalty Award, from BrandWeek magazine, citing UPS as the top company in its industry to which customers will demonstrate the highest level of loyalty.
Of the world’s 100 most powerful brands, UPS ranked 32nd in the 2005 BusinessWeek/Interbrand “most valuable” global brands.
And the American Brand Excellence Award from the City Business Journals in the category of “business services.” This award is based on the feedback of small- and mid-size business owners.
