Miles Young Entrepreneur Award To Name The 2006 Young Entrepreneur of Southern New Jersey


MOORESTOWN, NJ - (December 2005) - Miles Technologies, in cooperation with the Entrepreneurs Forum of Southern New Jersey, is pleased to announce applications and nominations are now being accepted for the Young Entrepreneur of Southern New Jersey 2006 Award Program. Conceptualized by Burlington County Entrepreneur Chris Miles, 35, who started his first company at the age of 12 and founded Miles Technologies at the age of 26 in 1997, the Young Entrepreneur of Southern New Jersey Award – also known as The Miles Award - gives recognition to progressive young business owners under the age of 30 operating businesses in Southern New Jersey.


• Founder(s) must be all under the age of 30 on Dec. 31st 2005

• Company must be an independent, privately-held corporation, proprietorship, or partnership (not a subsidiary or division) and the founders must own the controlling interest in the company.

• Company must have made its first sales prior to 3/1/2004

• Company must have had sales at or above $75,000 in 2004

• Company must have made a profit in 2005

• Company must have principal place of business in:

Atlantic, Burlington , Camden , Cape May, Cumberland , Gloucester , Ocean or Salem counties in New Jersey

• Company must employ at least three employees on Dec. 31st 2005 other than the founder(s)


The Entrepreneurs Forum of Southern New Jersey - a not-for-profit organization dedicated to fostering the development of entrepreneurial ideas and ventures and improving the success rate of emerging, growth-oriented companies in South Jersey and the Center for Innovation of Rowan University – will oversee the review of all financials and company information. All applications must be received by Miles Technologies by April 26, 2006.

Winners will be recognized at a special ceremony in May 2006, where they will have the opportunity to meet and speak with Advisory Board members and small business advancement and strategy consultants of the Entrepreneurs Forum of Southern New Jersey.
