Deutsche Bank last night announced the winners of its annual Pyramid Awards at a ceremony hosted by Pierre de Weck, Member of Group Executive Committee and Global Head of Private Wealth Management Deutsche Bank.

The awards ceremony held at London’s Royal College of Art accompanies a two month education programme supported by Deutsche Bank, which provides young people aged 16-18 with insights into the different career opportunities available within the arts.

To celebrate the 16th year of the Pyramid Awards, Deutsche Bank is staging an exhibition of new works by previous award winners; an exciting collection by some of the most talented visual artists and designers, who are rapidly establishing reputations for themselves both in the UK and around the globe.

The exhibition, curated by Sinta Tantra, winner of the Pyramid Award for Fine Art 2006, opens 10th September 2008 and runs to 8th January 2009 and will be held in The Space, at Deutsche Bank, 23 Great Winchester Street, London.

The annual Deutsche Bank Pyramid Awards have been supporting talented and creative graduates from some of the leading art institutions in the UK for the past 16 years. The Pyramid Award scheme was launched to offer practical and financial support to freelance artists, craftspeople, designers and performers to start a business or conduct a project in the crucial year after leaving college.

Pierre de Weck, Member of Group Executive Committee and Global Head of Private Wealth Management Deutsche Bank commented, “As an active supporter of the visual and performing arts around the world, Deutsche Bank recognises entrepreneurship and innovation within graduating art students. Since its inception, the Deutsche Bank Pyramid Awards scheme has supported over 100 students successfully launch artistic and creative careers and we are proud to celebrate the talent of previous award winners with this exciting exhibition of new works.”
