Time Warner Cable Names Gail MacKinnon Executive Vice President and Chief Government Relations Officer

Time Warner Cable today announced that Gail MacKinnon will join the company as Executive Vice President and Chief Government Relations Officer. She will report to Glenn Britt, President & Chief Executive Officer. MacKinnon will oversee the company’s Washington, D.C. public policy office, responsible for the company’s legislative and regulatory strategies.

“Gail has tremendous Washington experience from both the corporate and government perspectives and is the ideal person to lead Time Warner Cable’s public policy strategy,” Britt said. “Her intimate knowledge of the company and the intricacies of the numerous legislative and regulatory issues affecting our business will be incredible assets.”

MacKinnon is currently Senior Vice President of Global Public Policy for Time Warner Inc. and has been involved in overseeing all of the company’s government, political and public policy activities in Washington. Before joining Time Warner, she was Senior Vice President for Government Relations at the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA), where she was responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the cable industry’s outreach to Congress and the White House. Previously, she held government affairs positions at Viacom, CBS, Tele-Communications Inc. (TCI), and Turner Broadcasting. She began her professional career working for former U.S. Rep. Jack Fields (R-TX). Gail graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. She is on the board of directors for Franciscan Charities Inc.
