Net One Systems Joins Juniper Networks Open IP Service Creation Program As First Ipsphere Solution Integration Partner
Companies to Present CONTENTsphere Field Trial Cookbook to IPsphere Forum Members This Week in Stockholm
TOYKO, Japan and SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 2008 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, and Japanese system integrator, Net One Systems, today announced the latest phase in their ongoing relationship with Net One Systems becoming a premier partner in the Juniper Networks Open IP Service Creation Program (OSCP). This formal collaboration within the OSCP establishes Net One Systems as the premiere IPsphere solution integration partner in the program and will enable innovative new solutions for service providers based on IPsphere Forum specifications.
Combining Net One Systems’ development, integration and software customization capabilities and Juniper Networks high-performance routing and Session and Resource Control (SRC) portfolio, the two companies have made substantial strides in advancing IPsphere solutions through interoperability and proof-of-concept testing. In addition, the collaboration enables the companies to address multi-stakeholder services, which is another facet of service providers’ evolving business models.
The first major deliverable - the CONTENTsphere Field Trial Cookbook - in the OSCP collaboration will be presented by both companies this week at the IPsphere Forum’s plenary meeting in Stockholm, Sweden. The CONTENTsphere Cookbook represents the culmination of extensive interoperability testing between both companies and will deliver the following:
Field trial-ready implementation of the IPsphere Service Management System (SMS) software framework developed by Net One Systems
A validation of the Juniper Networks IPsphere-ready “S5” interface; based on the SRC portfolio leadership in delivering standards-based application-to-network interfaces, S5 enables direct interaction between the SRC and an IPsphere environment for advanced service control
A technical implementation guide and potential blueprint for service providers participating in the CONTENTsphere Field Trial later in 2008
“Services beyond voice are critical to the future profits of network operators worldwide, and content delivery is the foremost example of this kind of service,” said Tom Nolle, president and CEO of CIMI Corporation. “CONTENTsphere is the first global trial of premium content delivery in an open and standardized service management and operations framework, guided by IPsphere’s Release One specification. The Cookbook is a critical element in linking content requests to network behavior across carrier boundaries and brings the first significant support for IPsphere announced by a major equipment vendor. Net One’s relationship with network operators makes it a highly credible source for IPsphere tools and its commitment to CONTENTsphere marks significant progress in its implementation and demonstration.”
“We are very pleased to extend our relationship with Juniper through the OSCP to deliver increased value to our customers,” said Tomohiro Iwamoto, general manager of Network Technology Operations at Net One Systems. “In particular, we are excited to see our work in IPsphere develop into a working implementation for CONTENTsphere. Multi-stakeholder services and new business models are key issues in the Japanese market, and we believe that our OSCP collaboration with Juniper Networks offers our service provider customers a compelling solution based on IPsphere specifications.”
“Net One Systems has continually demonstrated expertise in the customization and integration of advanced IP services and their leadership in developing IPsphere solutions is no exception, said Todd Shimizu, director of technical marketing, Juniper Networks. ”We believe the delivery of the CONTENTsphere cookbook not only represents an important validation of the IPsphere vision and mission, but also provides a valuable tool for our service provider customers to develop their own IPsphere implementations for the rapid creation and automated deployment of IP based services"
