AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) has announced that Knowledge Learning Corporation (KLC) has signed a three-year multimillion-dollar contract with AT&T. Under the terms of the agreement, AT&T will provide Knowledge Learning Corporation with fully-managed Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)-enabled Virtual Private Network (VPN) services for over 420 of its KinderCare Learning Centers and CCLC employer-sponsored centers throughout the United States. This is part of the first phase of KLC’s network expansion and upgrade project.

Knowledge Learning Corporation (KLC) is the nation’s leading private provider of early childhood and school-age education and care, serving children throughout the United States.

AT&T’s VPN service will also make up the core of the international network solution for KLC’s affiliates, including sites in India and Singapore, and will allow for efficient deployment of voice and data connectivity to those international locations, as well as 420 domestic locations under the first phase of the project. Additionally, AT&T will be providing field engineering services, Network Deployment Services and international equipment procurement and installation. AT&T will also provide several hundred wireless units for increased connectivity and tracking of KLC transportation vehicles.

KLC also is currently deploying several new centrally managed applications including software and program development tools for their early childhood learning initiatives. The new AT&T network services will provide better performance and easier deployment of those applications.

KLC invited proposals from several leading network providers and completed a rigorous evaluation process. “AT&T presented us with a fully managed solution offering us easier management and predictable and uniform speeds and performance,” said Michael Long, Vice President of IT Infrastructure & Operations for Knowledge Learning Corporation. “They presented the value and a superior solution which addressed all our current and future needs.”

The agreement renews and expands a long-standing relationship between the two companies that spans more than ten years.
