Fujitsu Debuts LifeBook S6510 Notebook: Combines Design Ingenuity With Reliability and Performance to Deliver Market’s Lightest 14-Inch Widescreen Ultra Portable
Showcasing its design mastery in ultra-mobile computing technology, Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation today introduced the LifeBook(R) S6510 notebook, a 14-inch widescreen system weighing just four pounds, nearly a full pound lighter than other same sized notebooks. Designed with thinner, lighter components throughout, the LifeBook S6510 notebook is ideal for professionals who spend a lot of their time out of the office, delivering the perfect mix of security, reliability and mobility with the full-sized screen of a desktop replacement.
Fujitsu also introduced the 5.2-pound LifeBook S7210 thin-and-light corporate mainstream notebook, a 14-inch wide workhorse with a modular bay and a rich array of security features that are easy to use yet hard to defeat.
“Fujitsu is known for delivering cutting edge mobile computers and is focused on providing solutions for everyday use that can pass the test of the traveling executive,” said Paul Moore, senior director of mobile product marketing, Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation. “The LifeBook S6510 notebook delivers maximum display real estate in an exceedingly small footprint and eliminates the need to compromise weight for the advantages of a full-sized screen.”
The LifeBook S6510 notebook, equipped with a powerful Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor, ranges from less than an inch thin to a mere 1.42 inches at its thickest. A modular bay fits a variety of devices including a wide array of optical drives, a modular bay battery that extends computing time from 4:30 hours to 6:15 hours(1), and a convenient weight-saver insert that drops the weight to about 3.7 pounds.
A magnesium-alloy lid protects the notebook’s ultra-thin and bright 14-inch wide Crystal View LED backlit WXGA display. The result of rigorous testing and advanced manufacturing capabilities, the LifeBook S6510 notebook delivers renowned Fujitsu reliability complete with a spill-resistant keyboard and Fujitsu Shock Sensor hard drive protection system.
Fujitsu has established itself as the clear Wintel laptop leader for reliability and customer satisfaction, according to PC Magazine’s 20th annual Reader Satisfaction Survey. For the fourth year in a row, Fujitsu scored significantly better than average in overall satisfaction, reliability, and likelihood of recommending, and this year received the highest scores in these categories of any Wintel notebook manufacturer.
The LifeBook S7210 corporate mainstream notebook, configurable with one of three Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 processors, delivers up to 6.5 hours(1) of battery power with an extended life battery that can be placed in the modular bay.
The LifeBook S6510 and LifeBook S7210 notebooks share many of the features most requested by mobile corporate professionals, including an integrated webcam for video conferencing. The notebooks offer a combination of physical, hardware and software security features including a biometric fingerprint swipe sensor, embedded Trusted Platform Module (TPM) and the integrated theft-deterrent security panel with more than 800,000 possible passwords. In addition, the LifeBook S7210 offers a dedicated smart card slot.
A variety of communications options are available for both the LifeBook S6510 and LifeBook S7210 notebooks, including a modem and an integrated Gigabit Ethernet LAN, the Intel(R) Wireless WiFi 4965AGN Network Connection and optional Bluetooth wireless technology. In addition, the LifeBook S7210 notebook is available with the optional Atheros Super AG(R) Wireless LAN.
