Company’s National Call to Support the American Red Cross Contributes Substantially to the $196.9 Million Raised in First-Week Donations StormAid.com Selected by the U.S. Library of Congress for Inclusion in Web Preservation Project

San Antonio, Texas, November 2, 2005 – Clear Channel Communications, Inc. (NYSE: CCU) today announced that cross-divisional relief efforts in support of the communities affected by recent hurricanes have topped $65 million within the first two months of corporate hurricane relief efforts. Major sources of this record donation include: employee donations; benefit concerts and relief drives created by Clear Channel Music Group held at its amphitheaters and live concert venues nationwide; radiothons, telethons and drives for critical supplies including food, water and clothing organized by Clear Channel radio and television stations; celebrity public service announcements in support of the American Red Cross and Clear Channel’s hurricane relief Web site, StormAid.com, recorded by and aired on the majority of Clear Channel radio and television stations across the country; and outdoor billboard space encouraging support of the American Red Cross and StormAid.com.
“The coordinated efforts across Clear Channel’s divisions combined with support from their local communities have resulted in a tremendous outpouring of generosity,” said Clear Channel CEO Mark Mays. “I am extremely proud of our employees who remain committed to supplementing these relief efforts, and I applaud those in the Clear Channel organization who provided assistance while suffering their own losses throughout the storms.”
Clear Channel was one of the earliest responders to devote resources driving support of the American Red Cross within days of Hurricane Katrina making landfall in areas of the Gulf Coast. Donations to the American Red Cross made by online visitors to StormAid.com accounted for a significant portion of the $196.9 million tallied after the first week of the American Red Cross’ successful fundraising efforts. In recognition of its collaboration with the American Red Cross and for establishing itself as a comprehensive storm resource, www.StormAid.com has been chosen by The Library of Congress for inclusion in its historic collection of Internet materials related to Hurricane Katrina.
