Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that Juniper accepted an InfoVision Award in the “Network Core Innovations and Advances” category for its T1600 service-aware core router at the Broadband World Forum Europe 2007, which took place in Berlin, Germany last week (October 8 - 11). The latest addition to Juniper Networks T-series family of core routers was recognized for its industry-leading 1.6 Terabits per second (Tbps) capacity, a scale and performance breakthrough that will help service providers to more quickly and cost-effectively scale core networks to meet the escalating demands of delivering innovative, experience-based services to business and home subscribers.

“The 2007 InfoVision Awards represent the acknowledgement of the finest achievements by our industry in providing Broadband to the people of the world,” said IEC Vice President, Tom Costello. “We’d like to congratulate Juniper Networks for its T1600, chosen for this highly-competitive, prestigious InfoVision Award. I’m sure these innovative products and services will have a long-lasting positive impact on the industry and we look forward to customers enjoying the benefits of these innovations.”

The T1600 leverages the proven, powerful JUNOSTM software, the operating system that powers Juniper Networks routers across core, multiservice edge, Ethernet services and enterprise networks. This single source network operating system enables services providers and enterprise network managers to simplify day-to-day network operations while protecting long term infrastructure investments.

“Best-in-class technology has been the hallmark of Juniper’s success throughout our history, and the T1600 represents the pinnacle of more than a decade of engineering commitment, investment and consistency in the core,” said Paul Gainham, director, EMEA Service Provider Marketing. “This award is continued validation of Juniper’s ability to deliver high-performance network infrastructure for the world’s most advanced service provider deployments, at a time when they face extreme market pressure to deliver next-generation services.”
