Fujitsu Siemens Computers powers the next generation of SAP® Discovery system for enterprise SOA

Providing enterprises with a shorter, more efficient implementation path to enterprise service-oriented architecture (SOA) solutions is a key benefit of the new version of the SAP® Discovery system, which comes pre-installed on PRIMERGY servers from Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT provider. The new version of SAP Discovery provides customers with an even more comprehensive test- and evaluation platform, running on PRIMERGY industry standard rack or tower servers from Fujitsu Siemens Computers.



The SAP Discovery system consists of pre-installed versions of SAP solutions, including the SAP NetWeaver® platform, the SAP ERP application, the SAP NetWeaver Portal, SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management (SAP NetWeaver MDM) as well as intelligent tools such as Visual Composer and many other best-practice examples of enterprise SOA architecture. With a large amount of pre-configured software components, it will provide developers and system integrators with prototyping, developing and learning environments at their fingertips. With this almost “plug&play” approach, such as plugging in a server and enabling a test run of the SAP NetWeaver Portal, companies can easily test their strategies and concepts without time- and cost-intensive efforts.

Fujitsu Siemens Computers adds value to the SAP Discovery system on PRIMERGY by integrating a unique reset option, which takes the system back either to pre-installation mode or allows the system to be restored to snapshots taken during ongoing projects, therefore further extending the system’s flexibility and customer value. The SAP Discovery system is available pre-installed on PRIMERGY servers by Fujitsu Siemens Computers in EMEA and the Fujitsu group worldwide, and is a part of the Fujitsu Siemens Computers solution “Dynamic IT for SAP”.



Many customers and SAP implementation partners or system integrators already use the SAP Discovery system for enterprise SOA in their daily projects. One such system integrator to take advantage of the Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ enhancements to the SAP Discovery system is the Swiss IT consultancy emineo. The Zurich-based consultancy, which specializes in enabling its customers to integrate business processes based on SAP NetWeaver, uses SAP Discovery to develop proof-of-concept models for customer projects.
