Tyson Expands Dinner Meats Line with New Upscale Entrées; New products designed to meet demand for flavor, convenience
Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE: TSN) is bringing an even broader selection of flavors to the dinner meats category with three new, convenient products, the company announced today.
Tyson® Refrigerated Heat ‘N Eat Entrées include fully-cooked Chicken Breast Medallions in Italian Herb Sauce, Chicken Breast Medallions in White Wine & Garlic Sauce and Beef Steak Tips in Bourbon Sauce.
“We’re excited about these products and believe they’ll help meet the need of consumers who want the taste and quality of an upscale meal, but don’t have the time make it from scratch,” said Scott McNair, group vice president of Consumer Products for Tyson Foods.
“Our research shows consumers love the unique flavors of these new dinner meats, which can be prepared and ready to serve in a matter of minutes,” he said. “Consumers also appreciate the versatility of the products, viewing them as appropriate for quick meals, family meals or sit-down dinners.”
Research shows 77% of consumers say they are receptive to buying refrigerated dinner meats because the products fit their lifestyle and need for products that are fast and flexible.
“We believe our introduction of these new products will bring new users into the category and generate more purchase frequency among all consumers,” McNair added.
The Chicken Breast Medallions in Italian Herb Sauce are tender, whole-muscle chicken breast medallions, slow-cooked in an Italian herb sauce. Consumer focus groups have indicated they like the taste and the way the flavors blend, and also enjoy the consistency of the sauce and how it says with the chicken.
The Chicken Breast Medallions in White Wine & Garlic Sauce are also tender, whole muscle chicken breast medallions, slow-cooked with herbs, garlic and white wine sauce. The taste and color was appealing to focus groups, as was the consistency of the sauce.
The Beef Steak Tips in Bourbon Sauce include tender, seasoned steak tips that are marinated in a bourbon sauce and slow-cooked. Like the other new items, the product contains no preservatives.
The new products are sold in 17 ounce packages, contain no preservatives and have been vacuum sealed for freshness. Like other Tyson® Refrigerated Heat ‘N Eat Entrées, they can be heated in a microwave oven in four minutes or in a conventional oven in 20 minutes.
