Successful deployment of Alcatel-Lucent’s solution improves operations efficiency of Kazakhstan mining company


Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) announced today that its OmniPCX Enterprise solution has successfully been deployed at Joint StockCompany Sokolov-Sarbai Mining Production Association (SSGPO), a world leading company in the extraction and processing of iron ore headquartered in Rudnyi, Kazakhstan. The Alcatel-Lucent’s solution significantly enhances existing SSGPO communication network and adds in-office mobile functionality.

Tandem TVS, Alcatel-Lucent’s business partner system integrator, was in charge of the implementation of the solution and provided a full range of installation and integration services. The introduction of the new system at SSGPO provides a powerful tool to transform its business communication processes and increase operational efficiency through transparent and seamless communication. It includes four Alcatel-Lucent’s OmniPCX Enterprise communications servers empowered with DECT. The state-of-the-art Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise solution supports a wide range of advanced business communication services such as dial-by-name, multi-line functionality, conferencing and voice mail.

On-site and off-site mobility for SSGPO employees is enabled by Alcatel-Lucent’s solution based on European (DECT) standards. Mobile phones seamlessly integrate with desktop phones and/or PCs, providing mobile users the same functionality. The Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise solution also allows each end-user registered in the system to be reached with a unique single number whether he is at his desk, on the move or on a remote site.
