Members Choice Credit Union Chooses AT&T for Network Services Upgrade

WEBWIRE

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has announced that Members Choice Credit Union, which serves employee groups, associations and community areas around the Houston metropolitan area, has signed a new networking services contract with AT&T. The three-year agreement calls for AT&T to upgrade Members Choice’s existing point-to-point circuits to AT&T Virtual Private Network (VPN) services.

The VPN services, which use Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology to prioritize business-critical data that travels over the network, will connect Members Choice’s six locations as well as its backup site in central Texas. AT&T’s VPN services deliver the improved bandwidth and scalability that Members Choice needs to reliably conduct transactions more quickly and efficiently. The VPN services also enhance data security.

“AT&T’s networking services are helping us manage a vast amount of mission-critical data every day,” said David Dang, vice president of Information Technology with Members Choice Credit Union. “This network services upgrade is designed to help Members Choice continue to deliver the high level of customer service that our members expect.”

Those who choose to bank online will also benefit from the upgrade. The AT&T solution integrates Members Choice’s online Home Banking platform, which allows customers to conveniently access real-time account information at any time and from anywhere that they have Internet access.

The agreement also includes deployment of an Optical Ethernet Metropolitan Area Network solution (OPT-E-MAN®) service in Houston as an upgrade to Members Choice’s data network services.

The OPT-E-MAN service is a switched Ethernet service that connects local area networks (LANs) within the same metropolitan area. Through the OPT-E-MAN solution, Members Choice will be able to use switched metro Ethernet technology to link facilities situated across the Houston area through a single managed network solution. This ensures that there is virtually uninterrupted data transportation from point to point, point to multipoint or multipoint to multipoint.
