Houston breast cancer news: Massage for the Cure Day Only One Month Away

HOUSTON, TX. – August 4, 2007 – Here’s the latest Houston breast cancer news . . .

“A free massage for you can help someone else.” That’s the theme of a day-long event coming to the Houston area on September 10 . . . but you have to think ahead.

This is the first year for Massage for the Cure in Houston.

Here’s what’s happening: On Monday, September 10, all 22 Greater Houston-area Massage Envy clinics will provide free 1-hour therapeutic massage sessions to any man or women in support of the Komen for the Cure Houston.

“For a donation of any amount, any Houstonian who calls for an appointment will receive a free, one-hour therapeutic massage from any one of the 22 Houston-area Massage Envy clinics,” said Lance O’Pry, Houston Regional Director for Massage Envy.

O’Pry said every Massage Envy clinic in the Houston area will be fully-staffed with licensed massage therapists and “every penny collected will be donated to the Houston Komen affiliate.” The money will be spent on breast cancer research and needs of Houston women.

IMPT – THINK AHEAD -- Reservations for appointments will be accepted beginning at 8 AM., Monday, September 3rd. Massage Envy clinics are open from 8 AM until 10 PM. Participation in Massage for the Cure Day is first come-first serve, but reservations will only be taken beginning September 3rd.
