Establishes new Management Information practice within Advisory Services group

Boston, MA,- Speaking from the 39th annual National Business Travel Association (NBTA) International Convention, American Express Business Travel today unveiled its new Web-based management information (MI) data reporting solution, American Express AXIS @ Work. American Express also introduced a new Management Information practice area within its Advisory Services group.

American Express AXIS @ Work draws in and unifies information from more than 60 critical global business markets to present corporate travel purchasers and managers with centralized, online access to the comprehensive data resulting from their firms’ business expenditures. The new American Express AXIS @ Work builds on and advances its predecessor solution (known as American Express @ Work Reporting) with enhanced user navigation and MI reporting capabilities such as:

* An intuitive graphic user interface
* Dashboards featuring key indicators
* Standard reports to simplify information gathering
* Customizable reports to suit unique needs

“Accessible, accurate management information is a table stake clients tell us they must have to meet the twin goals of program savings and control. The data itself must be comprehensive and of the highest-quality, but when reported, it must lead them to the most relevant business insight, at-a-glance,” said Andrew J. McGraw, Senior Vice President and General Manager, American Express Business Travel North America. “With its intuitive navigation, graphic dashboards, and standard and customizable reports, American Express AXIS @ Work channels our global data into actionable data, helping clients to more quickly pinpoint opportunities for program improvement.”

McGraw added, “American Express AXIS @ Work represents a step change technological leap in how we will help our clients with spend analysis, preferred supplier management, travel policy effectiveness and traveler purchasing compliance.”

American Express AXIS @ Work, will be made available globally and rolled-out over the coming months. Further capabilities are anticipated such as for Meetings Management and Environmental (also known as “Eco”) reporting. The Eco-reporting facet, for example, envisions carbon footprint and emissions calculation for air, rail and car travel.

New American Express Advisory Services MI Practice Area
As an additive complement to the American Express AXIS @ Work launch, American Express also introduced a new specialty area dedicated to Management Information within its Advisory Services group. Management Information experts will integrate data from American Express AXIS @ Work with corporate card, airline, hotel, car rental and other supplier’s data to determine spending trends, identify T&E savings opportunities, and recommend strategies for optimizing and maximizing travel spend.
