Glysantin® receives DEKRA seal of approval yet again – “Specially recommended”

BASF’s original Glysantin®, Europe’s biggest selling brand of engine coolant, has once again been awarded a “specially recommended” seal of approval by DEKRA, the international testing and certification company. DEKRA only issues a seal of approval to engine coolants that achieve top marks in all categories.

“We are very pleased to announce that DEKRA has yet again confirmed the excellent quality of Glysantin®”, said Ralf Strauss, technical marketing manager for BASF’s automotive fluids. It was subjected to a wide series of tests, including corrosion tests at high temperatures and high pressures. Its chemical and physical behaviour, its chemical composition and its compatibility with the environment were also examined. All of these tests yielded positive results.

Glysantin®, which is supplied in the white bottle with the unmistakeable red logo, is the oldest brand of high-quality engine coolant in Germany. It was developed in 1929 by BASF chemist Dr. Otto Jordan. It protects engines from frost, corrosion and overheating, and it is this ‘three-in-one’ action that distinguishes high-performance engine coolants such as Glysantin®
