Jerusalem, Israel-June 18-Operation Lifeshield is meeting the need for protection from unexpected missile attacks at public bus routes, school bus routes, walking routes to schools/kindergartens, busy streets and pedestrian areas, shopping districts/markets, etc., by releasing their new life-saving product, the “Lifeshield Bus Stop.”
“We found that many civilians and school children waiting outside for public transportation at the time of a missile attack often could not find adequate and safe shelter before the missiles hit,” said Shep Alster, who along with Josh Alder started “Operation Lifeshield” after seeing first hand the devastation to innocent lives during last summers war in northern Israel. ‘Operation Lifeshield’s’ goal is to place the ‘Lifeshield Bus Stop,’ along every public/school bus route, and pedestrian area in the southern and northern Israeli Homefronts. These areas are living under the daily threat of missile attacks"

Designed after the “Operation Lifeshield Shelters,” the ”Lifeshield Bus Stop" is transportable and can easily be redeployed to other areas as needed. The ceilings are covered by Flexdek sheeting with 30cm. of steel reinforced concrete and are certified to withstand a direct hit of a kassam missile. The bus stop walls and flooring are made of 20cm. thick steel reinforced concrete.

Warnings from an air raid sirens give Israeli’s approximately 15-90 seconds to seek shelter before the missiles land. This life-saving initiative will provide safety to commuters who depend on public transportation, school children, drivers, and any civilian caught out in the open public areas during a missile attack. These bus stops will also go a long way in reducing the trauma, especially for children, associated with being closed in an overcrowded poorly ventilated bomb shelter for days at a time because of lack of shelter in the outdoor public areas.

About Operation LifeShield
Operation LifeShield is a not for profit life-saving initiative that provides transportable bomb shelters to cities and other areas that lack essential life-saving shelter in the event of an attack. The above ground shelters, carrying the seal of the IDF Homefront Command, are built offsite and are transported to the area in need. Each shelter can hold up to 30 people during an air raid emergency and can be re-deployed should security needs have to be met in another location. The shelters come standard with special armored steel door and window sets, exterior and interior lighting, electrical outlets, phone and cable outlets, and a generator hookup preparation. Upon certification each donated shelter then gets strategically placed in areas where civilians are most vulnerable.
