Avnet Technology Solutions Taps Joe Rueda to Lead IBM Sales Team
14-Year IBM Executive Joins Leading Distributor Whose Relationship He Helped to Develop
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas, a value-added distributor of enterprise computing products, software and services, and an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), today announced the addition of Joe Rueda to the senior management team for its IBM business unit. As vice president of sales, Rueda will be responsible for managing sales teams across the United States to profitably grow business for Avnet and its partners.

A seasoned executive, Rueda joins Avnet from IBM where he has more than 14 years of experience in sales and management, most recently as director, Americas business partner sales for the IBM Systems Group. Throughout his career at IBM, Rueda has achieved success selling to the small and medium business market, financial institutions and the software channel. While at IBM, he played a pivotal role in developing Avnet as a new IBM distributor. Later, Rueda built the strategy, associated management systems, sales, business development and marketing teams to drive independent software vendor solution sales on the iSeries platform. Before joining Avnet, Rueda served as the executive assistant to the general manager for IBM’s Global Business Partners.
