Harris Corporation Showcases Integrated Broadcast Workflow Solutions at KOBA 2007

DTP-300 — the latest addition to the Digital Turnaround Processor (DTP™) product line, the DTP-300 allows broadcasters to add local branding, insert commercials, manage EAS and rate-shape MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 program streams without having to decode and re-encode at the local station level.

Inscriber® G-Scribe™ 5.0 — an advanced suite of on-air graphics design tools featuring an updated, full-featured character generator, real-time animation, multilayer compositing, 3D Flyby™ technology, and a feature-rich media store for managing digital assets.

Radio Transmission

The DMB 670 transmitter — designed for the T-DMB version of the DAB standard, retains the exciter and control architecture of the Harris® Hirschmann series of DAB transmitters. The DMB 670 transmitter adds Harris-designed amplifiers and power supplies, and improved cooling. The result is a new transmitter design featuring a very compact footprint, lighter platform and greater modularity.

The Harris® Z-HD+ family of HD Radio™ transmitters — designed for tri-mode operation (common amplification of both the FM and IBOC DAB signals, digital only for separate antennas or standard 10 db insertion, or straight analog). The bias on the PA modules is automatically adjusted for optimum operation for each mode — on-the-fly. This line of transmitters provides analog power levels from 2.5 to 21 kW, Common Amplification from 1.5 kW to 16 kW, and digital only from 775 W to 7 kW.
