Burberry Opens Antwerp Store


Burberry has announced the opening of a 155 square metre/ 1560 square feet store in Antwerp, located at 29 Schutterhofstraat, stretching across one floor.

The design concept is based on the Burberry London flagship store, which is located on New Bond Street in London. Intrinsically, British materials and Burberry themes, including beige marble floor, fumed dark oak and white stucco walls, have been used in the Antwerp office in a contemporary way.

The Antwerp store carries Burberry Prorsum and Burberry London ready-to-wear collections for men and women. It also includes the fragrance, timepiece and sunglass lines. In addition, it will carry the Burberry Icons Collection which was first launched in Autumn/Winter 2006.

As part of the Burberry Icons Collection, for accessories and small leather goods, the store features the Beaton bag. Previewed during the Burberry Prorsum Spring Summer 2007 show the Beaton bag appeared in ochre python, pale grey python, trench quilted patent leather, exploded trademark check in sliced metallic silver and woven vintage silver python.

The Beaton bag has silver hardware featuring the Burberry equestrian knight logo, and the leather covered trenchcoat buckle strap. The multi-compartment bag contains functional fitted pockets for holding mobile phones, MP3 players and PDAs. The Beaton is also available in other fabrications and colourways, including the exploded gabardine check trimmed with calf leather trench, and black quilted patent leather.

The Antwerp store opening further extends Burberry’s worldwide retail portfolio. Spring 2007 openings have included Manchester (UK), Seville (Spain), Prague (Czech Republic) and Bologna (Italy). The Burberry collections are also available online at
