Exelon Names Two New Directors to Board

Stephen D. Steinour of Citizens Financial Group and Don Thompson of McDonald’s to join Exelon board

Exelon today announced the appointment of Stephen D. Steinour and Don Thompson to its board of directors. Steinour is president and CEO of Citizens Financial Group. Thompson is president of McDonald’s USA.

“Stephen and Don bring additional depth and experience to our board, and we are delighted that they are joining us,” said John W. Rowe, Exelon’s president, chairman and CEO.

Steinour oversees Citizens Financial Group’s business lines and operations. Citizens Financial Group is a multi-state commercial bank holding company headquartered in Providence, R.I. Steinour is one of Citizens’ leading executives responsible for bank acquisitions and integrations.

Thompson is responsible for McDonald’s entire U.S. system, including 13,700 restaurants. Thompson has played a crucial role in setting McDonald’s strategic direction and helping the U.S. company achieve record sales growth over the last three years. McDonald’s is based in Oak Brook, Ill.

Shareholders of Exelon approved the board appointment at the company’s annual shareholders meeting yesterday.
