CN Promotes Keith Creel To Executive Vice President, Operations Effective May 1, 2007

CN announced today the promotion of Keith Creel to the position of executive vice-president, Operations, effective May 1, 2007. Creel will be responsible for the company’s rail operations in Canada and the United States and will be based in Edmonton, Alta. Creel has been senior vice-president, Eastern Region, since January 2004.

E. Hunter Harrison, president and chief executive officer of CN said: "This executive appointment reflects the quality of the senior operations leadership team. With Keith’s promotion, the operations function will be led by a bright, experienced leader that brings passion and dedication to the job day in and day out. He has played a significant role in leading CN’s scheduled/precision railroading model to the forefront of the rail industry.

“Keith has outstanding leadership skills and is taking on one of the key roles in the company,” Harrison continued. “This announcement complements the appointment of Paul Miller as chief safety officer, and further strengthens the team overseeing the most fundamental part of our business - our operations.”

Creel began his railroad career at Burlington Northern Railway in 1992, before joining the Illinois Central Railroad in 1996. He came to CN as part of its merger with IC in 1999. He has since held a series of increasing responsibilities including general manager - Michigan Zone, Midwest Division, in June 2000 and vice-president of the Prairie Division in 2002, before leading the Western Region as senior vice-president from July 2003 to January 2004. Creel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing/management from Jacksonville State University.
