Las Vegas – Anystream, the leading provider of new media production and management solutions has announced that multichannel retailer HSN is using Anystream’s Agility to automate the creation of video for distribution to Web, mobile, VOD, and HSN.com’s live webcasts.

With Anystream, HSN can produce round-the-clock video in any number of formats to serve viewers outside of the home and away from the television.

“One of our strategic goals is to increase the convenience of shopping with HSN by making our content available anywhere our viewers might be. By automating the production of the many video formats needed to serve emerging outlets and devices, Agility is helping us realize that goal,” said Gerard Johnson, HSN’s director of technology, advanced services.

Launched in February 2006 to improve the quality and reliability of HSN’s live Web stream, Agility is now being implemented in a variety of HSN media initiatives. The original deployment has grown to a multi-node system as HSN expands its reach to outlets such as Google, iTunes, Soapbox, and their own live webcast at HSN.com.

Now using the Agility Web Services API to integrate core enterprise systems with its digital media production and publishing, HSN has a seamless, automated system for the production and distribution of its media.

“It’s all about automation. Agility streamlines redundant and time-consuming processes so content providers can further experiment with new media businesses without straining their production group,” said Anystream VP of Products Russell Zack. “By shifting attention from unnecessary bottlenecks to new distribution ventures, media companies can improve profitability and increase their visibility in the competitive new media landscape.”
