Chilwell to be assessed

Mauricio Pochettino has said it is too soon to confirm whether Ben Chilwell will return to action this weekend.

The England international has been sidelined for the past few weeks with injury and now illness, with Pochettino revealing at his pre-Manchester United press conference on Wednesday that the left-back has been unable to train for a few days.

Speaking ahead of our weekend trip to Bramall Lane, Pochettino confirmed that he hopes Chilwell will return to training on Friday and, if so, he will be monitored before selecting his side to face Sheffield United on Sunday.

’We need to see with Chilly, Pochettino confirmed ahead of our trip to Sheffield United. ‘Still he is not training.

‘We will see if he can be involved [in training on Friday] but then Sunday is the game, so there isn’t much time.

‘If he’s not ready for Sunday, then we hope for the next game he will be available.’
