New One Cubic Foot Portable Super Computer Supports Eight CPUSs

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - MaxVision® Corporation has introduced the MaxCube8230X Server/Workstation, a rugged, extremely compact super-computer supporting eight (8) CPUs, up to 24 GB of memory, and up to 8 TB of storage. The MaxCube provides uncompromised PC-compatible performance, removable mass storage and expansion, and is designed to function in extreme dust, temperature, and poor-power conditions.

“The MaxCube8230X is specifically designed to meet the demanding multilevel security and mass storage requirements of military servers and similar configurations for deployment in poor environmental conditions”, states Bruce Imsand, CEO and Founder of MaxVision Inc. “A single high performance Baghdad air filter system stops virtually all dust and dirt particles; the filter can also be replaced or cleaned and reused in the field. All computer components are protected including optical disks prone to dust contamination.”

The MaxCube can operate in temperatures ranging from 0-50°C, and up to 90% relative humidity. Supporting numerous power options – such as an optional integrated uninterrupted power supply (UPS) and a DC power input – makes the MaxCube extremely versatile and portable. It is also highly compatible with MaxVision’s MaxPac X Class rugged portable workstations; all computer components (memory, processors, hard disks, optional cards, UPS subsystems, motherboards, and video cards) are interchangeable between the two systems.

MaxCube8230X Key Features:

Two Xeon 5300 quad-core or Xeon 5100 dual-core processors (1,333 MHz FSB).
Up to 24 GB of DDR2 FB ECC memory 667 MHz (6 Sockets).
Two removable 100 GB system hard drives (2.5”).
One removable slim optical drive (choice of DVD burner or BluRay).
One HDPac8, two HDPac4, or four HDPac2 removable hard drive magazines supporting a total 8 TB of removable data storage using 7,200 rpm 3.5” SATA drives. Individual hard drives can be hot-swapped without shutting down the system or removing the HDPac. After the system is shut down, HDPac hard drive magazines can be removed in seconds without tools.
Advanced RAID support. Supports both RAID 5 and RAID 6 extreme performance.
Standard size ATX motherboard (SuperMicro X7DAL-E) with upgrade options to next generation technology.
