AOL Names Nisha Kumar as New Chief Financial Officer
AOL announced that Nisha Kumar will serve as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer, reporting directly to AOL Chairman and CEO Randy Falco. Kumar comes to AOL from Time Warner Inc., where she held senior positions in Operations and Mergers and Acquisitions.
Kumar brings a wealth of experience to the CFO position. As Vice President, Operations, she worked on a variety of strategic and operational issues across Time Warner’s internet, cable, networks, filmed entertainment and publishing divisions. Before that, she was Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions, executing many significant transactions for the company, including Time Warner’s bid for MGM and the sale of Warner Music Group. She first came to AOL in 2001, where she worked on cross-divisional investments with Time Warner. Kumar has also been a vice president at Priceline.com and was an investment banker at Morgan Stanley.
“I am delighted that Nisha will be joining our team,” said Randy Falco, Chairman and CEO of AOL. “Her stellar background and breadth of experience will be instrumental in guiding AOL’s finances as we complete our transition to a global Web services company.”
“I couldn’t think of a better time to rejoin AOL than now,” Kumar said. “AOL is once again poised to lead, this time on the open Web. And I look forward to working with Randy and his team to make this happen.” Kumar received an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BA from Harvard College.
