Morrill, Maine – Ironwood, a co-educational, residential treatment program for troubled teens, announced it has hired Deanna Valente as their new Program and Admissions Director.

“We selected Deanna because of her years of dedication to families and youth. She has a real talent to not only meet the needs of inquiring parents but also the staff whom she leads. We are very fortunate to have her as part of our team,” said Teresa Shinedling, Executive Director for Ironwood.

Deanna comes to Ironwood with a diverse background, having previously worked in the banking, insurance and legal fields. She most recently spent the last 22 years as the Admissions Director for a private, therapeutic boarding school in southern Maine. Deanna shares her passion for helping teens and their families with the rest of the Ironwood staff and believes there is always a way to help an adolescent regain self-esteem and repair family relationships.

“I look forward to helping develop and expand a very reputable and successful program. The people and resources here at Ironwood are the very best. I believe as parents visit Ironwood and consider all their options for treatment and education for their teen, they will realize all the advantages that Ironwood has to offer,” Valente concluded.
