Ol’ Shakey: Memories of a Flight Engineer shares some of the most memorable stories of Gene’s time in the air force and his civilian career that will surely entertain military personnel, aviators, and anyone who is enthusiastic about the romance of flying and the reality behind it.

Ol’ Shakey is an aircraft that has a habit of getting some quirky malfunctions and keeping flight engineers on their toes. One flight with Ol’ Shakey starts out normally, but turns into what flight crews refer to as a “simulator session.” Will he be able to take care of the problem, or will there be another lost airplane and a lost crew?

About the Author

Byron Gene Fish entered the aviation field at the age of sixteen. He attended air force pilot training, which earned him wings and a commission as a pilot. He recognized the value of education and enrolled in college wherever he was located. He completed PhDs in psychology and aeronautical engineering. He and his wife live in Normandy Park, Washington.
