Former Hawaii State Legislator Introduces His New Book

Jim Shon talks about politics, crimes, arrogance, cover-ups, and the media

Honolulu, Hawaii – WEBWIRE

Poison in Paradise is a good thriller, but it is also one way for anyone interested in our democracy to ponder the give and take, the nuances, and the nuts and bolts of legislative life.

From the author of Inside Hawaii’s Capitol: Lessons in Legislative Democracy and A Charter School Story: Hawaii’s Experience in Creating a Charter School System comes another factual and fascinating book, Poison in Paradise.

Jim Shon takes us back to pre-Internet times, when government information was disseminated through limited media outlets available. With the introduction of multimedia in the twenty-first century, the book examines how people in any age think and how these tools support their different agendas.

“As a mainlander that has traveled to Hawaii on a number of occasions, I found the book fascinating and well written. While fictional, it brings up a number of compelling issues that are all too real. Great book, quick and easy read,” says one reader from Dunwoody, Georgia.
