Coming back home from a road loss, the Marshall University Thundering Herd football team suffered a tragedy of epic proportions when its plane crashed and burst into flames. Craig T. Greenlee commemorates the lives of his teammates who perished in the worst aviation disaster in the history of American sports.

Craig T. Greenlee showcased his book, entitled November Ever After: A Memoir of Tragedy and Triumph in the Wake of the 1970 Marshall Football Plane Crash, through LitFire Publishing’s booth in the annual Frankfurt Book Fair 2016. The event was held on October 19–23, 2016, at Messe Frankfurt (Frankfurt Trade Fair) in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

Coming back home from a road loss, the Marshall University Thundering Herd football team suffered a tragedy of epic proportions when its plane crashed and burst into flames. Craig T. Greenlee commemorates the lives of his teammates who perished in the worst aviation disaster in the history of American sports.

Writing this book was Greenlee’s way of moving on from what happened to his team. He shares, “The horror and trauma of it all left me feeling like I was carrying a fifty-pound weight around my neck. It was more than I wanted to deal with, both emotionally and psychologically.”

November Ever After is descriptive, but the telling is smooth and the emotion is subtle—appropriate in memorializing a grave tragedy.
