“I wanted students to understand clearly that much more than the two famous towers were destroyed, lives were shattered. Not only did people die, but families were emotionally torn apart by this terrible tragedy.”

In a book entitled, We Remember: Stories of September 11, 2001 Victims Written by Families, Maureen Santora compiles the memories of twenty-four heroes on the 9/11 tragedy.

As an educator for over 27 years, Santora felt obliged to provide information that would aid students to commit to memory what happened on September 11, 2001. She expresses, “I wanted students to understand clearly that much more than the two famous towers were destroyed, lives were shattered. Not only did people die, but families were emotionally torn apart by this terrible tragedy.”

The accounts did not only revive the memories of the victims in the hearts of their own families but also enabled readers to relate and experience what the surviving families had when their loved ones were still alive.

We Remember has been featured at the 2015 Guadalajara International Book Fair last November 21- December 6. For the second time, it will be presented to an international audience at BookExpo America on May 11-13, 2016 at McCormick Place, Chicago.
