PlayKids Launches Stories: an eBook App Featuring Over Over 350 eBooks, Including 80+ Disney Classics Like Pocahontas, Alice in Wonderland, Frozen and Inside Out

After launching PlayKids Talk and PlayKids Party recently, PlayKids, the leading mobile entertainment and education hub for children, now announces the launch of PlayKids Stories, a new app just for eBooks. The app launches with content from Disney, Discovery Kids as well as PlayKids’ own original content.

Increasingly regular access to mobile devices has made e-reading a mainstream activity. In the U.S., recent research published in Pediatrics found that by age four, approximately 75 percent of kids had regular access to a digital device and a study by PlayCollective and Digital Book World found that 93 percent of kids aged two to 13 e-read at least once a week.

PlayKids Stories is a digital reading experience that adapts to kids’ unique learning styles, ages and imaginations. Designed with a fun and quirky space-themed interface, the app features:

1. Over 380 eBooks made just for digital devices. Organized by format (interactive, read-aloud and audio), theme and a child’s age, PlayKids Stories makes it easy to find the perfect read and parents can adapt to individual learning styles and imaginations;
2. A customizable digital bookcase called “My Universe”, where kids add their favorite eBooks for quick reference as well as creative profiles for kids to accessorize and create;
3. Offline access so users can download eBooks before road trips, visits to grandma’s or anywhere else where connectivity can be a question;
4. No ads or in-app purchases;

PlayKids Stories is free to download and part of its content is also free. Families who previously subscribed to PlayKids will receive complimentary access to PlayKids Stories, PlayKids Talk, a messenger app, as well as PlayKids Party, a new app devoted to entertaining and educational activities for children.

This news follows recent industry accolades for the company. PlayKids for Apple TV was recently named a Top 10 Essential App by Apple and was likewise named a top family app by Google.
