New Website Announces Licensed Birth Center with Water Birth Option

Goshen, IN – Goshen Birth Center announces the launch of a new website designed to explain the advantages and safety of their licensed birth center. Betsy Black, Administrative Director of the Center said, “We provide a peaceful, certified nurse-midwife supported birth in a calm, relaxed, and home-like environment, which promotes an empowering and satisfying birth experience.” 

The midwifery model of care is to respect the woman and her body’s ability to birth. Pregnancy and birth are considered a normal process and not to be feared. This model of care is reflected in the birth center setting as women are free to move about as they wish, eat during labor, have family and other support persons with them.  Goshen Birth Center offers homeopathy, aromatherapy and water immersion as natural pain relief options. A birth preparation course is also provided prenatally to educate couples about the natural birth experience and teach techniques to use during labor.

If the decision to transfer to a hospital is made the midwife accompanies the mother to IU Health Goshen, a 5 minute drive away.
