Tele Atlas Opens Joint Venture in Indonesia

Agreement with PT Navindo Technologies Is A Key Component of Company’s Expansion Across Southeast Asia

s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands, September 7, 2006 – Tele Atlas NV, a leading global provider of geographic content, today announced the opening of its Indonesian joint venture, PT Tele Atlas Indonesia. Formed as a business partnership between Tele Atlas and Indonesian map solutions provider PT Navindo Technologies, the new company will focus on delivering a highly accurate digital map database of Indonesia and on in-country marketing and sales activities.

The fourth most populated country in the world, Indonesia is experiencing substantial economic growth. Tele Atlas Asia Pacific Chief Operating Officer Mark Steele said the country is expected to be an active market for mobile local search and navigation solutions. “Navindo is the most advanced mapping company in Indonesia, and this joint venture puts us in the best position to quickly deliver the quality geographic content our partners and customers will demand. It is an important move in our strategy to lead the digital map market in Southeast Asia.”

Navindo President Anton Santoso said the two companies bring complementary strengths to the market. “Tele Atlas’ global reach, industry expertise and technology leadership combine with Navindo’s local knowledge to help us explore the full potential of the emerging Indonesian market.”

PT Tele Atlas Indonesia will initially focus on enhancing its map database of core population centers, including Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya, and is expected to deliver map products starting in early 2007. The joint venture will initially employ 20 people in an office located in central Jakarta.
