Dallas based CMRS carrier TPI Receives Regulatory Authority to build, own and operate 800 MHZ P25 Overlay Network as a Hosted Service.
Governments no longer are required to buy, build, own, and operate costly P25 radio networks in-house. TPI’s 800 MHZ Carrier Hosted P25 service has demonstrated and proven to be more reliable, more scalable, more interoperable, more secure and more affordable than government owned P25 systems.
Telecommunication Properties, Inc. “TPI” stated that it has received regulatory approval from the Federal Communication Commission for an 800 MHZ P25 overlay network for North Texas.
Governments are no longer required to buy, build, own, and operate costly P25 radio networks in-house. TPI’s 800 MHZ Carrier Hosted P25 service has demonstrated and proven to be more reliable, more scalable, more interoperable, more secure and more affordable than government owned P25 systems. Specifically the FCC approved TPI to build, own and operate a multi-channel wide area 800 MHZ P25 overlay network.
TPI’s regulatory authority for 800 MHZ P25 covers most of North Texas and will be used to deliver a variety of hosted P25 network services to governmental agencies, first responders and other public safety agencies. Specifically small and medium municipalities are challenged with limited resources when migrating to a P25 network. They can attempt to build their own P25 network but often lack the required spectrum or the budget to operate these sophisticated digital networks. TPI’s 800 MHz P25 hosted solution provides choices with a flexible migration path for these municipalities.
“In fact TPI’s hosted 800 MHZ P25 network is operating today. Municipalities and public safety network operations are simplified through a hosted solution that turns CAPEX, management, maintenance and operational burdens into a predictable OPEX service all while increasing network reliability,” said TPI’s President Jimmy Chiles. TPI’s hosted P25 800 MHZ solutions can serve as the primary, disaster recovery or as a wide area overlay for interoperability. Our core and network elements are located only in the best and most hardened facilities available that currently support over 15 governmental agencies today.
TPI designs, builds, owns and operates unique distributed telecommunication infrastructure networks for use by wireless carriers, law enforcement, sport venue owners and critical infrastructure providers by using technology including distributed antenna systems, small cells and licensed spectrum. TPI deploys this technology as a hosted service to enhance coverage and capacity. TPI operate inside utility rights of ways, spectrum licenses, CLEC permits and municipal structure and street furniture. Debt free and cash flow positive TPI has been in business for over 25 years.
