Former Miss USA and Change Agent for Women, Terri Britt, Asks Women to Boycott Victoria’s Secret “Perfect Body” Ad

Atlanta, GA – WEBWIRE

(Nov. 3, 2014) - Victoria’s Secret new “perfect body” ad is inciting protests from thousands of women including former Miss USA 1982, Terri Britt. Women are demanding that VS change the ad saying it supports unhealthy body images.

Britt says, “This ad, like so many, sends a message to all women that we have to be perfect to be loved and valued. Our value does not come from our bodies. It’s time for us to break the rules that we women tend to live by and take a stand for loving ourselves, saying no more to these perfect picture standards. I lived by these standards and I was an emotional mess. Looking for love and approval from the outside world will never fill us up. It is time for women to stop performing for approval. And we can begin by boycotting this Victoria’s Secret ‘Perfect Body’ ad.”

Britt has been coaching women to take a stand for loving themselves for over a decade. In her award-winning book, “The Enlightened Mom,” she guides moms to “stop the performance,” setting the tone for their families to find peace and self-acceptance.

“It’s important for us as women to take a stand and say NO MORE to the societal rules that tell us we have to be perfect to be loved, not only with our bodies, but also in our work and in our homes.”

Terri Britt’s mission and website, www.TerriBritt.com, is dedicated to helping women finally feel seen, heard, and valued by “breaking the good girl rules” and taking back the authority of their lives.
