WellCare Now Serves More Than 102,000 Medicare Advantage Members in Florida

WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (NYSE: WCG) announced today that it has grown to serve more than 102,000 Medicare Advantage members in Florida. During the Open Enrollment Period, which ends on Dec. 7, Medicare-eligible Floridians will be able to sign up for the company’s plans in 52 Florida counties.

These plans are designed to save seniors money by offering options across the state, many of which have a $0 premium, while continuing to offer additional benefits beyond original Medicare that include dental, vision, hearing, transportation, fitness and over-the-counter benefits. WellCare of Florida also continues to help beneficiaries save on Medicare Part D medications by offering preferred cost sharing on all Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plans at certain network pharmacies in 2015. These pharmacies include Walgreens, Walmart, Kmart and Kroger.

Additionally, because of WellCare’s expertise in serving hundreds of thousands of Medicaid members, some of these plans continue to be good options for Medicare beneficiaries who are dually eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid.
