SAIC Wins Joint Fires Integration and Interoperability Team Contract

Aug 24, 2006 - (SAN DIEGO and MCLEAN, VA) - Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) announced today it has won a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to support U.S. Joint Forces Command’s (USJFCOM) Joint Fires Integration and Interoperability Team (JFIIT), a subordinate command under USJFCOM.

The base term of this contract is one-year with four one-year options, and the total ceiling value of the contract, if all options are exercised, is estimated to be $59.8 million. Most of the work will be performed at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.

The SAIC-led team will assess current capabilities and develop recommendations to improve the conduct of joint fires. SAIC and its team will develop products to improve combat identification, training, equipment systems interoperability; tactics, techniques, and procedures, and integration of lessons learned into joint tasks and USJFCOM processes.

Under this contract, SAIC’s Engineering, Test and Analysis Business Unit, based in Albuquerque, N.M., will assist in the development of joint fires process models to support operational and tactical tasks. In addition, SAIC will provide data collection and analytical support, including technical support, engineering, integration, installation, testing, documentation, training, operation, and maintenance of JFIIT data collection and analysis capabilities.
