OpenTV And Nagravision File Patent Suits Against Apple In Germany
The Kudelski Group (SIX:KUD.S) announced today that its OpenTV, Inc. and Nagravision SA subsidiaries have filed three patent infringement suits against Apple in Düsseldorf District Court. The suits allege that Apple infringes three patents owned by OpenTV and Nagravision and seek, among other relief, to enjoin Apple from further infringement. The suits identify Apple’s infringing products and services as including iOS mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, and iPod), Apple TV, App Store, and OS X-based personal computers.
Additionally, the Group announced that it has appointed two new members to the Intellectual Property & Innovation leadership team. David Fligor and Clay Gaetje have been appointed as Vice Presidents of Licensing reporting to Joe Chernesky, Senior Vice President, Intellectual Property & Innovation. Mr. Fligor was most recently Vice President, Corporate Development & Strategy at TiVo and Mr. Gaetje was most recently Vice President, Licensing at Rovi.
