Applied DNA Sciences Sciences Certifies Micross Components Facility for Third Party SigNature® DNA Marking
Florida Facility Approved for Role in Anti-counterfeiting Effort
Applied DNA Sciences, Inc. (OTCQB: APDN), (Twitter: @APDN), a provider of DNA-based authentication and security solutions, announced today that a Florida facility of Micross Components, a global provider of specialty electronic components with a 35 year history in providing authentic, high-reliability products, has completed the training process to become a certified SigNature® DNA Third-Party Marker. The Micross Clearwater, Florida facility has been audited and approved to securely store multiple unique SigNature DNA marks and apply them on behalf of customers.
Certified Third-Party Markers play a key role in APDN’s anti-counterfeiting solution by offering companies a way to efficiently and immediately begin SigNature DNA-marking their products. Because Micross Components has the quality infrastructure in place, they can support a range of customers in the military, aerospace, industrial and commercial spaces as the SigNatureDNA marking program continues to grow and gain momentum.
Micross Components boasts a broad scope of services in a number of key industry segments that make them an ideal partner for the SigNature DNA Marking program. The company is both an aftermarket and original component manufacturer of packaged integrated circuits, and also offers DLA lab-suitable MIL-STD test screening.
Additionally, Micross Components supports the US Defense Logistics Agency SigNature DNA Marking requirement by approving their legally authorized distributors to ship DNA-marked components to the Agency.
“Micross Components sets the benchmark for highest-quality standards in the defense and aerospace industry. Their diversified and versatile business model aligns well with the forensic security solutions our SigNature DNA marking technology offers,” commented Bob MacDowell of Applied DNA Sciences.
Anthony Mestre, Clearwater Site Manager, remarked, “DNA marking is an important piece in our range of value-add services, along with counterfeit detection and electrical testing validation, offered as an integral part of Micross Components’ anti-counterfeiting program.
