Renowned Interior Design and Model Merchandising Expert, Lita Dirks, to Conduct Major Kitchen Trends Seminar, Two Workshops and One Roundtable Session at the International Builders Show (IBS) in Las Vegas

Respected interior design and model merchandising expert, Lita Dirks, will be a busy lady at this year’s International Builders Show, February 4-6, 2014 in Las Vegas, NV.  Each year, the conference hosts thousands of builders, developers and residential building industry professionals from around the world.  Attendees gather at the week-long event to see and learn about building innovations, new regulations and codes, marketing tactics, design trends and more.

Dirks is scheduled, with Mike Hetherman from Willis, to conduct a Spotlight Session Program entitled, “Love Living in Your Kitchen: Trends & Preferences for 2014” to be held on Wednesday, February 5 from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. at the Las Vegas Convention Center, room South 223.  Mike Hetherman is a kitchen designer who understands selections and how people relate to materials.  Dirks is a model merchandiser who helps builders determine what products, styles, color and trends should be incorporated into their model homes. “Today’s kitchens must be the perfect recipe of great design, beautiful elements, comfort, formality and solid function,” says Dirks, adding, “Mike and I have found that when a builder displays these choices in a particular fashion, it makes buyers more comfortable with the selection process.” The Spotlight Session is AIA CES credit eligible.

Dirks will also be part of a roundtable session entitled, “Best Foot Forward: 50+ Sales Office & Model Merchandising,” scheduled for February 6 from 12:00 to 12:50 p.m. at the Las Vegas Convention Center’s North Hall, room N257.

Two additional workshops to be conducted by Dirks at IBS include a Kitchen Design Plan Review Workshop on February 4 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in South 224 and an Interior Design Plan Review Workshop on February 6 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in South 224.  During these one-on-one sessions, Dirks will spend up to 25 minutes reviewing kitchen and interior design plans and instruct builders on how they can modify or expand their plans to better meet the needs and expectations of today’s home buyers.
