Abbacino continues its expansion in China
The Spanish bag brand has opened 20 retail corners in 2013, and will add a further 50 next year.
Coinciding with its official presentation in China in May, Abbacino announced its intention to pursue growth in this market through the retail corner format. It entered China in 2011, when it opened its first shop in Shenzhen, to which it later added others in Beijing, Tianjin and Xinjiang.
In the second half of the year, Abbacino opened 20 retail corners in top shopping malls and has signed deals for 50 more in 2014, as the brand’s co-founder and CEO Sebastià Vadel explained. The PoS will be bright, open-plan spaces with a design of Mediterranean inspiration.
Abbacino’s new Spring-Summer 2014 collection, Southern Lights – which is a tribute to the Mediterranean light that bathes the island of Majorca, the brand’s birthplace – was premiered in Canton (China) at an exclusive catwalk with more than 250 guests.
