Datavail Hosts Two Free Webinars on Database Performance Optimization on Nov. 14

Broomfield, Colo. — Nov. 8, 2013 — Datavail, the largest pure-play database services company in North America, will host two free webinars on Thursday, Nov. 14. During these webinars, Datavail performance tuning experts will offer proven tips on how DBA managers can  optimize their database performance.
 
The first webinar, “Best Practices for Optimizing DB2 Performance,” kicks off at 10 a.m. MT. Presenter Craig S. Mullins, a data management expert, will discuss best practices for DB2 performance tuning and management. He will outline the issues involved in maintaining efficient DB2 applications, databases and subsystems, and offer tips for achieving optimal performance in a DB2 for z/OS environment.
 
The second webinar, “A New Framework for Solving Database Performance Issues,” begins at noon MT. Stephen Faig, business development manager at Unisphere Research and Database Trends and Applications (DBTA) magazine, will serve as the moderator as Chuck Ezell, senior applications tuner at Datavail, presents a new approach to illuminate database problems through examining SQL Code, Space, Sessions, Statistics and Scheduled Processes.

About the Speakers
Craig S. Mullins is working with Datavail and its DB2 practice to expand offerings. He is president and principal consultant at Mullins Consulting, Inc. and the publisher of The Database Site. Mullins has 30 years of experience in all facets of database management and is the author of two books: “DB2 Developer’s Guide” currently in its 6th edition and “Database Administration: The Complete Guide to DBA Practices and Procedures,” the industry’s only guide to heterogeneous DBA.
 
Chuck Ezell brings more than 18 years of experience in database experience in defense, education and corporate sectors. He has developed for Microsoft, Sun, Oracle and Open Source technology platforms. As a senior applications tuner, Ezell has spent the last five years immersed solely in Oracle/Java development, debugging and implementation.
